MINISTRY GROUPS

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL

The Parish Pastoral Council is a group of people who serve the parish community by reaching out within the community and beyond.  Through prayerful reflection, pastoral planning, and visioning, the Council strives to be rooted in Gospel values and helps each other and the community to encounter The Risen Christ.  The Parish Council meets the first Wednesday of the month (September - June), for prayer, reflection and pastoral planning.

CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE

Mission Statement

The Catholic Women’s League of Canada is a national organization rooted in gospel values calling its members to holiness through service to the People of God.  They meet the second Tuesday of each month , following the 7:00pm Eucharist.  All women of the parish are welcomed and encouraged to come out.

  YOUTH GROUP

Youth Group is for youth  grades 7 and up.  They meet bi-weekly Monday nights from 6:30 - 8:30 in the school.

SOCIAL JUSTICE

St. Joseph's Social Justice Group invites you to join us for lively discussions around social justice issues concerning our church community, our local communities, our country and internationally and what action we might take.  Our meetings are held in the Parish Centre lasting approximately one hour.  We will be reviewing the meeting time to ensure it is best for the majority of members.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY

Children’s Liturgy is a program designed for 4-6 year old children.  It is designed to teach them stories and values of the bible at their level. Fall sessions focus on stories of the Old Testament, while Christmas through to June follow the weekly Gospel reading.

Children attending Children’s Liturgy are called up by the Presider after the Opening Prayer.  The congregation sings a song of blessing and then Youth Group members accompany them to the adjoining Parish Center, where they facilitate the 15 minute session. The program is coordinated by adult volunteers in the parish.
